Is a Namaaz nishani on forehead real, or does skin on forehead go dark as one gets old.

Answer

It is common to get marks on one’s forehead due to performing sajda over a lengthy period of time. However, this in itself does not carry any virtue or reward, nor does the absence of such marks mean anything. There are people who are very observant and punctual in their salah who do not have such marks on their forehead.
