Q520: Dua to become clever

What is the dua to become really clever at school/college/uni.

Answer

There is no magic dua that will suddenly make you clever. Rather, the Duas must be prayed regularly, and you must also try very hard. Duas you can read include Rabbi zidni ilman (رَبِّي زِدْنِي عِلْماً), which means “O My Lord, increase my knowledge.” And also, رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا. You will also need to do lots of regular revision. Our scholars of the past recommend that the best way to remember something is to go over it and revise it the same day you were taught it. This is called takraar and will help you to keep all the information in. At exam time, you will have to revise again.
