Here’s some Islamic advice for those rushing to the sales!
1) When going to a shopping centre, keep reading 4th Kalima.
‘La ilaha illallahu Wahdahu La Shareeka Lahu, Lahul Mulku wa Lahul Hamdu Yuhyi wa Yumeetu Bi Yadihil Khayr wa huwa Alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer’; The Hadith says you will gain one million hasanaat, one million Siam’s will be forgiven and one million ranks will be raised.

Also keep busy in other Azkaar, tawba, istighfaar, durood shareef, tasbeehaat & tilawat if you’re a hafez.
2) Don’t buy things you don’t need. This could make you shopaholic.
3) Never steal, cheat or defraud anyone. You might get what you want but the barakah will fade away.
4) Set a limit of how much you are going to spend. Don’t overspend!
Allah says in Surah Bani Israeel:
“And do not spend wastefully. (In extravagance) Indeed, the wasteful are friends of the shaytaan, and Satan has always been ungrateful to his Lord.”
Then Allah says “And do not make your hand tight [as though it’s] chained to your neck nor extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and regretful. Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is fully aware of and watchful over the conditions of His slaves. [Quran 17: 26-30]
5) Avoid purchasing on credit.
One Hadith in sahih bukhari says:
لا اشتري شيا و ليس عندي ثمنه”
“I will not purchase something for which I don’t have anything to pay” also there will be a risk of falling into interest, if you don’t settle the debt on time.
6) Don’t forget to plan your day around your salah times (no excuse for abandoning salah or making it qadha).
Gents! it’s Friday, Don’t miss your Jumuah Salah!
7) Be in state of Wudhu when you leave, so when time for salah comes you only have to find a good secure spot to pray.
8) Just in case Wudhu breaks and water would be hard to find, Keep a bottle of water with you … Ladies! there should be enough room in your hand bag for a small bottle of water.
9) Have a compass with you… If you have a smart phone download an app for qibla direction, or go on qiblalocator.com
10) When it’s time for salah don’t feel shy in asking the shop assistant if you can pray in a secluded area where you won’t disturb anyone.
11) Those of you going to large shopping malls, ask at the information desk whether there are any multi-faith prayer rooms… If you don’t ask you won’t know.
May Allah make your shopping easy and give you lots of bargains.
May Allah be pleased you for abiding by His commands.
May Allah allow us to shop in the markets of jannah as well. Ameen.
