Q768: Eating from food which is intended for sadaqah

I hope and pray that you are in best of health and Iman please pray for me and my family.

Friend of mine normally cooks food in Muharam and Rabiulawal and distributes it to poor and needy as sign of happiness and Isal Sawab. Can he eat that food himself and his family?

Yes, he is the rightful owner of that food until he distributes it. So he may eat from it.

Don’t fix any dates for it. Do it as often as possible. Also tell him not think of it as wajib. Do it when possible and with ease.
