Q260: Hadeeth in text messages (Viral texts)

It’s been a trend in Pakistan that people send hadeeth through text messages without confirming rather these are Sahih or modified.
I want to ask how can we discriminate between the sahih hadeeth, I mean how can I judge weather this hadeeth is sahih or modified???

Whenever you get such a text ask an alim in your vicinity. Most Hadeeth with regards to the virtues of months which are circulated in texts are not correct.

To know the difference between saheeh and non saheeh, you have to go through an extensive course of usool-e-hadeeth and then study the books of hadeeth. It is not possible to judge between ahadeeth without proper tools. Sometimes if reference is given by the narrator you may be able to judge between correct and forged.
