Question

Assalamu Alaikum, Mu’azzaz Molana sahib, I have come accross the following hadith shareef, please explain this to me as I have 3 daughters and 2 of them are teenagers:

Narrated Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu): “There is no Muslim, whose two daughters reach the age (of adulthood), and he is good to them as a companion, and they do not cause him to enter Paradise.” [Sahih Bukhari]

Answer

People in Jahiliyyah used to treat the females in a very harsh manner. The birth of a girl would be taken as a bad omen. Some idiots would bury them alive. The women had no rights whatsoever.

Islaam uplifted their status saying:

“Jannat lies at the feet of the mother”

“Women are the other half of men”

Similarly the above hadith mentions the virtue of taking care of girls; that they will take him to paradise so take good care of them, give them the best education and the best upbringing.
