Why all the sufferings in the Muslim world?

We hear about the persecutions of Muslims in different parts of the world; Whether in Syria or recently in Central Africa. Our hearts bleed for the oppressed. We can’t bare to see those images. We pray for the oppressed as well as for the oppressor. May Allah have mercy upon the Ummah, and upon the humanity as a whole.

Someone sent me the Arabic of a conversation between a Mongolian tyrant’s daughter and between an Alim. We have to remember that Gengis khan, and his army of Mongolians emerged and wreaked havoc throughout the Middle East. Their sole ideology was to kill as many people as they could. In spite of not having any bombs or any fire power, they killed, with spears and arrows, over 1.8 million innocent people. Many people thought at the time that they were yajooj majooj.

Gengis died and his son Halaaku khan replaced him. Halaaku’s daughter once passed by a gathering of Muslims sitting around an Alim. The following conversation took place between them.

She: “Do you people not believe in Allah ?
Alim: “Of course we believe in Allah?
She: “Do you not claim that Allah helps whoever He wills”
Alim: “Yes, we claim that”
She: “Did Allah not help us against you”
Alim: “Yes, He did”
She: “Does that not mean that Allah loves us more than you?”
Alim: “No, It does not mean that”

She: ” Why not?”
Alim: “Have you seen shepherds looking after herds of goats?
She: “Yes, I have”
Alim: “Have you noticed that with every herd they have a few dogs”
She: “Yes, they do”
Alim: “When the goats run around wild and scatter everywhere, what do the shepherd do? Do they not send the dogs after the goats until they are all returned to their original spot”
She: “Yes, that’s what happens”
Alim: “So, how long do they let the dogs loose behind the goats?”
She “Until all the goats get together”
Alim: “Well, then you are like those dogs, we left our Deen so Allah sent you after us and you will remain after us until we return to our original condition”

MORAL: The lesson we need to learn here is that the quicker we return to our Deen the better for us. We have to pray five times a day. We have to fulfil all our duties. We have to behave properly and avoid all sins.

May Allah have mercy upon us, May Allah guide us along the straight path, May Allah keep us steadfast on siraate mustaqeem till the day we die. May Allah guide all the Muslims and the non Muslims alike. Ameen
