Q54: Is it permissible for 2 people to marry without permission of their parents?

Is it permissible for a man to marry without permission of his parents in the hanafi madhab? And also is it permissible to marry without permission of the girls parents?

Answer:

Many things are permissible but should not be done. Eg. Eating mud, soil is not haraam, but should not be eaten. Going inside a pub to buy a can of coke is permissible but one should not go, because people who see the person will doubt. So, leaving the masala on one side, marriage is not a piece of cake. It is something more important than you think. Therefore, every step should be taken very carefully.
