Q179: Offering Salah behind clean-shaved Imam

Assalamu Alaikum,

I am a student in University. In the masjid of our university, the prayers are often led by brothers who are either clean-shaved or their beard is not a fistful. Also, sometimes their pants often go beneath their ankles. Should I still offer Salah behind such an Imam?

Answer

The fuqaha have stated that Salah behind such a person is makrooh. It would be better if you, yourself became the Imam and lead the Salah.
