Q679: folding musalla after salah

Asalamu – Walaikum
I have a question about something that Ive been hearing people say quite often. When finished praying and you leave your prayer mat unattended ,does shaitan come and stand on it? Or is this all just a myth people might have made up over the years?

It is to teach people to be respectful to the place of worship. It has been famous since olden days. But I have not seen it anywhere.
