Q535: Salah on plane, and iqtidaa of an imam who has wiped on socks

Assalamu alaykum

I hope you are in the best of health and iman.

I have 2 questions, Firstly if a namaz is prayed in a plane (sitting down, facing qibla) does this need to be repeated, and if so, why is this.

Secondly, if the imam does masah on a pair of normal socks, is namaz accepted.

Jazakallah.

Answer: 1, it’s good that salah was prayed on time, however since one fardh was missed out ,and that is, standing, we should repeat the salah when we get home, If you had prayed it at the back while standing, you would not have had to repeat it.

2. Masah on normal thin cotton socks is not allowed according to all four mazaahib, therefore, such salah is incorrect. One should avoid praying behind such imam to the best of his ability.
