Q455: is name rafiya allowed?

is rafiya name is suitable of girl.i am doubt because rafe sifati name of allah

Answer, Rafe’ is also the name of some Sahabah, which means it is permissible.

Allah’s names are of 2 types. Some are exclusively for Him eg. Rahman, others are attributes which are found in creation as well eg. Malik (king), the first type cannot be used for creation due to be-adbi, the second can be used, provided no disrespect is understood.

I cannot recall the name Rafiya being used by any of the sahaba or the salaf, however there doesn’t seem to be any harm in keeping it. Allah knows best, wassalam
